Hi all,

A friend asked me a question I could not answer, so I promised to post it inhere .

he has assembled his gearbox with a set of Hardy couplings, but when he tighten up the big center bolt, the collar on the Hardy flange goes in & touch the seal.

He has the correct sidecovers = no 22G420, and all bits shown on the parts picture is present, so what can be wrong ?

as the large bolt is shouldered, and the large washer is a certain fatness, the bolt should allow the spicer flange to go to far into the diff to meet the seal.

it must be that either your bolt or washer are wrong, or possibly the spicer flange has had its end cleaned up (if it has got chewed up a little in the past from been run loose) and this allows it to go further home than it should.

must be an easy fix, what ever it is!
