That's a factory BMC item Jens. in 59' they fitted that bolt on front to allow a Fork Lift truck to lift the shells to the spray booth where they would paint the car. The forklift would then drive around the factory and by the time it got back the paint was dry.

I'm surprised you didn't know that Bill being a 59' expert??
