Routing for wire to starter push button?

I've got an Autosparks loom for my '61 850, and I'm not sure of the correct routing for the wire that runs down to the floor-mounted starter button. The wire protrudes from the loom JUST as it passes through the bulkhead, so I could see two possible routing options:

-The first would be to run the wire into the interior of the car, and down through the parcel shelf, but then I'm unclear on where to pass it through the floor pan to get it to the switch.

-The second option would be to not pass it into the interior of the car, but run it straight down the outside of the bulkhead, and along the exhaust tunnel. The thing I don't like about this is that I feel it would be running too close to the exhaust manifold.

What the proper routing? Thanks.

Benny,
I fitted the same loom to my car. Passes on the interior. Should be a hole, might have a rubber grommet in it, in the firewall to get it under the floor. Tight fit but it goes through.

From memory isn't that hole close to the headlight dip switch? Pretty sure it is.

Thanks Keith,

I'll have another look for a hole. I didn't see one that jumped out at me as the obvious choice, but if that is the correct routing, I'll find a way to get it through.

Steve,

On a LHD car, the dip switch is all te way over, against the left wheel well.....that would be a long reach for you guys.
