Carpet fitting/cutting

Anybody have any suggestions on how I can 'form' the carpet over the exhaust tunnel? I bought a roll at a show which is a very good match to the original grey but I want to get the cut right without second attempts. I have Newton Commercial carpets but they are all wrong. Any way of heating them up over a mould without buggering up the material. Cheers. Mark

Get some cheap cloth (thickish) and use that to cut it to shape so you know it's right then mark it out on the back of the new carpet and do it that way.. I would..

Thanks for your reply. I am fortunate enough to have a set fom Newton which I can use as a template. I am really after tips on moulding the carpet over the exhaust tunnel. Has anybody used a heat gun with any level of success? Cheers. Mark
