I have chanced upon two sets of twin carbs a guy may be selling, but I'd like to know more about them, could anyone help me out?
One has an inlet manifold with narrow flanges, stamped AEG 347, 12A 661. The other has wide flanges, and is stamped 12G 2463. What cars are they likely to be from? Would one manifold perform better than another?
On another note, I know how shocking the standard twin carb inlet manifolds are, performance wise. Are there any tuning companies that produced decent-flowing manifolds? I'm sure I've seen a couple of Downton examples, but I can't be sure.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Inlet Manifolds
If using twin SUs, and regulations allow, the Maniflow ones are very good after some fettling.

Re: Inlet Manifolds
AEG 347, 12A 661 = MK1 1275 S (Mainly)
12G 2463 = I'm not as "up" on the later ones, but I suspect its a MK3 1275 S.
Maniflow inlets are excellent, as Vegard says with a bit of fettling, but they are expensive!
With a few minor mods the above manifolds can be made to flow pretty well.
