I see that You have the KAD alloy hubs.
Do they really have the same geometry as the standard ones ?

bpirie1000, cheers.. yes i have them not got round to painting them or fitting them yet! thats my job for today! theres no instructions for them and all the wording is in japanese! ha! there very clever though, they are like cnc's plastic and work on a slide so they open with the later mk3 hinges! i understand all that but fixing them to the car is another thing! i will take a photo later so you can see! and i'l also take a photo of my clocks they Tom sorted me out with by doing the drawing! look really cool!
cheers mk1coopers, i saw them and they do look very nice but the problem with carbon fiber is that its lost on a black car! iv had a carbon bonnet made using a kad 16v bonnet as a starting point then i made a bulge for it then had the lads at carbon weezel work there magic on it
http://www.carbonweezel.co.uk/projects/index.html (if you look about half way down the page on the link you can see my bonnet) it was the worse of two evils as i really wanted a standard bonnet but with carbs sticking out as far as they do and i didnt want to butcher it! i made it up out of fibre glass first but it just look naf so i thought id make a feature of it rather than it bugging me.. im possibly thinking about running it on fuel injection at some point so i will definatly be able to overcome the problem of the carbs and fit a standard bonnet
minipete, nope its actually an 8port which runs on a standard 5port set up utilizing the normal cam.. its what med called there experimental 8 port head (well thats what he sold it me as!) they didnt carry on with it as it was to costly to produce a decent exhaust system so they said! (mmm) later i didnt alot more research into it and it appears what mr med probably did was buy a couple of ken elders heads and do the work on them a pass it of as his own design! "charming" either way i guess it has a novelty factor i suppose.. something you may find interesting is this new 7port head that med are doing is the again ken elders design (not the pearce onces)
almondgreen, yes well spotted! (haha) yes it appears they do, what do you make of the arrangements of the wheel bearing? as there not preloaded?

well apparently your suppose to get them tight then back them off a bit? and not rely on the spacers.. and not tighten them up as tight as you can get them... im guessing its because there worried about the bearing geting to hot and expantion of metals ie making it sloppy! thus kernackering the hubs! did your not have a disclosure on them?

cheers monkey, ocd helps a bit haha not really.. i really like hot rods how they use chrome in suttle places, like where you wont expect it to be and not to much of it on show, its basically all the things i like about minis higle-de-pigle-de together

Love it!
Love the modern look in the old style layout. I don't have the patience to build something of that standard.
