Birkett 6 hours

Post by Tim Harber »

Well in advance , anybody have any experience of this novelty race?

It's for all manner of closed wheel cars and , for the first time in my knowledge, a Mini team took part. It's just taken place last weekend and the (Mighty) Mini team ended up being 23rd place

It's relatively good value . 6 Minis took part and it worked out that £250 got you 20 minutes practice and an hour racing. Seems like a good crack to me and I would like to think that we can round up some aged racers to take part. (Jokes about lasting more than 4 laps will not be acceptable). Earlier this year a load of Mighty Mini racers took part in the 24 hour race at Snetterton and they all said it was the best thing they had ever done but this is a bit more of a bargain day out doing something different

Not quite right on that statement about the first Mini team to compete.
I together with a team of Mini 7 cars competed in the 60's.
It s great event and you get even better value for money if some cars break and you end up doing extra.
