I`m pretty sure there is an `S` block hiding amongst all the debris so hopefully i haven`t wasted my money and time dragging her out of the bramble bush where she`s been hiding for the last 20 years, i will let you know when i manage to cut the engine free from what is left of the subframe and bulkhead!

There's a human hand on the bulkhead too. Don't forget to drop it at the police station

I presume the rocker cover is the restoration project, and you are going to weigh in the rest of it?

if not, you are a braver man than I!

The clocks threw me at first, but all the other details look like a Mk1. Hard to tell when you look for the external hinges and that much of the A pilars are missing!

did you find it, or was it washed ashore?

I think the bulkhead needs a bit of rustOleum. Nice valve cover. Twin carbs and oil cooler; maybe it WAS a cooper. and maybe it can be again.

You could always auction it.

With the current trend it'll probably reach 50-60 grand easily. ;)

 Like the second hand ...very clever ;) ..perhaps i should have put it on fleabay as you say, with all those genuine early accessories i`m sitting on a fortune! ... still if the block is what i think it is, it will finally give me the EN40B crank i wanted for my 1275 GT `S`, along with the con-rods etc...fingers crossed i can get it all apart ;)

 I`m surprised i am having to point this out to some of you guys but i was not serious about restoring this, all i had was the bulkhead and engine, the rest is still in the hedge!
I managed to separate the engine from the wreckage today and it looks like the block will be ok :D , it definately has an `S` crank pulley, the head is a 12G 940 and it has tappet covers on the back, so its looking promising, the `S` brakes look pretty shot but the calipers and driveshafts look ok, i will try and get the head off next week and see whether i bought a turkey or not ;)

early rad, oil cooler, disc brakes and callipers, as well as the S block, Wheeeheyyyyy!!!! next you'll be telling us it's got a 333 box or a 190 :shock
I reckon you're right - some details like the sports coil, rocker cover, cooler, etc. make me wonder what you'll find when you examine the head and engine internals... brush away the flakes from the head and maybe find a code punched in (downton? - you never know!!). if it was dumped 20 years ago then the modifications must have been very long standing even then, not to mention that this sort of thing just wasn't valued back then..........

Best of luck!
