Value of SC/CR gear set with 22G306 laygear

Post by abri »

Hi all,

I have the opportunity to buy a set like this in an X type 22G333 casing without a diff housing. What would you say is a fair price for just the gear set. It looks to be in very good condition.

I had exactly the same combination once, but not in a good state. In fact, the casing had substantial idler gear damage. It had a moke sumpguard underneath. If I remember correctly, I paid 275 Pounds. This was in the late 90s...

Thanks a lot. I ended up paying the equivalent of 352GBP for this one (includes casing, gear set, diff casing with Hardy Spicer outputs, remote gear lever assembly). Quite a few of the fins on the casing are damaged, but this is the first 22G333 gearbox I've seen in two years (that is not on a car) in South Africa, so I felt I needed to grab it. The gear set looks in very good condition, but I'll have an "expert" give it a look over. Hope I didn't spend all this money on a pile of crap.
