originally the door window frame surround was fixed in place with metal clips which went in the door frame holes and bent at a right angles. while i was at bingley hall show i went to somerford minis stall with one of these clips they said they had not seen this before and gave me some rivets. these are far too small for the holes in my door frame which are approximatly 5mm in diameter. unfortunatly i have scince lost this clip has anyone seen this before and does anyone know where i can get some of these clips.

It looks as if someone has drilled the fasteners out (to remove them)with an oversize drill.

I would say this is an early door which has bigger holes for clips instead of rivets. I don't know where you can buy the clips.

hi al, i took the trims off and the clips i mentioned before were in place they seemed to be original to me ,they was no damage to the window channel or any signs of touching up which would have been evident if they been drilled out previously,regards mark

they are the holes for the early type slide in clips, im not sure they are still avalible?

My 1071 had holes that size, when I restored it the clips were still a BMC off the shelf part. I haven't seen any for a good few years now though.

I'll have a rummage & see if I can find any.

What build date was yours, Mark?

It was a very early Flat blocked one.

Yes, I have also had Mini's with this style of window trim clip.......used to order them from local my BL Dealer back in the 1970's. Then they became NLA.......
