Seen on another forum and certainly worthwhile mentioning here. This 1964 Cooper S from NZ with 998cc engine (twin overhead cam and turbo charged) broke the speed record for vehicles up to 1000cc at Bonnevillewith an average speed of 251kph (156mph) Who says that aerodynamics are important?

And without any BMW help - well, they don't know anything about Mini's anyway ;)

Quote Mini4Ever "This 1964 Cooper S from NZ with 998cc engine"

As far as I understood they swapped the 970 unit for a 998 unit, but I might be wrong.
