I'd love to know how anyone could restore that. Makes me wonder if its worth the current £66 with no log book.

I agree with that, anything else would be too much of a challenge, the problem is, without a V5, it's a nightmare to get it back on the road. (Legally, that is!). I can't believe I said that, who would ever re-identify one Mini as another? Oh! I miss those glory days of Abingdon!

So a buyer intent on a 'hooky' registration needs to find a '59 shell AND a set of '59 documents.

So what is the point of buying that trailer load of scrap?

You might just as well buy a 'hooky' set of documents & a new or refurbished shell, as you say there is no need for the trailer load of scrap apart from a few parts that may be re-usable.

There may still be a gearbox number and the stamped in chassis number on the OS inner wing strenghener - maybe even an FS key number. Wade though the records at Gaydon and you should find it - would be a long search though.

It does sound from the description that the ID has probably been "used elsewhere" :o
It's sure to provide a few useful spares if nothing else.
