Quick Wheel Offset help needed

Hi -
I currently have 3.5" stock 850 wheels on my Mk1, and the only tires I have are Yoko 008's which, obviously, balloon over the wheel quite a bit. This ballooning also is part of the cause of my tires rubbing on the rear hydrolastic springs. I have added some spacers to the drums to help cure that but it is still close.
I have a line on a set of Cooper S 4.5" replicas with +35 offset and I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if this wheel and offset will help, or hinder, my rubbing problem? I'm sure it will help the ballooning effect, but I don't know what offset the stock wheels have and don't want to introduce the tire any closer to the springs.
Thanks!
Warwick
