Speedo Drive

Hi,

I have a Mk3 S and the final drive is the standard 3.44.

I intend to fit a 2.9 as my engine is tuned and is revving its nuts off on the motorway. It can easy pull a longer diff with 130 ponies.

With my 1280 130 MPH speedo and 10 inch wheels Guessworks chart says I need a 7/17 speedo drive. There's one on EBAY.

But before I press the button can you tell me if the speed drive changed? As in cable/style fittings etc from remote to rod? I assume that aspect stayed the same. I can't find anything to the contrary on the web. I'm on the original remote Mk3S box.

In fact if you've got a 2.9 CWP and 7/17 speedo gear set I'll take it. Or I'll have to simply buy new (the CWP).

Cheers

The larger pinion won't fit the A series box, you need to modify the bearing retainer to clear.
