Appendix K pre 66??

Post by rolesyboy »

Hi Guys. Can somebody give me a heads up on the above please? Interested to know what specs have to be used eg camshafts (731,s 649s allowed?), carbs H4, HS4?), cc, manufacturing or date of first registration?? Cheers

My engine runs with the SW23 as do most of the Swiftune engined pre 66 minis. Not sure what cam others use.

I stand to be corrected but as far as I know here's no rules on cams but HS4's are out. Pre '66 means built before not registered before, there's quite a few '66 registered App K racers.

When FIA opened the door for replicas some years ago - year of build became unimportent
As long as you car meets the exact specs of a '65 car - it could be built yesterday for that matter. (So if Heritage made a Mk1 shell that is 100% like the '65 - you could use that!)

As for cam etc:

Engine size is max 1293cc. I.e std 81,33 mm stoke with max +20 rebore.

Cam is free - use whatever you like.. (my guess is that most use SW23 or other 648 "copies")

For induction; H2 or H4 are the only carbs homologated... You will also need a Std inlet with oval bolt pattern.

1300 pre A+ block and '940 cyl.heads are allowed so no need to buy rare and expensive S-items.
Cheers,
