totally standard Mk3 1000 / 850

Driving home from work today I saw an old guy getting into an orange Mini, nothing to unusual in that, except it was a really tidy bog standard car on a P reg. No visible modifications, chrome arch trim, std wheels and wheeltrims etc.
Looked all the better for it, but when did anyone last see a standard Mk3 just being used on the road?

i regulary take my mk 3 out to get the butties at lunch time
its a totally standard looking 8 port rally car and im getting old

seriously - thats cool , thats the reason i got the black mk3 S so i can just pop about in it here n there - even better when an old boy gets in it, wonder if he was a racer as well

well, he was carrying a small polystyrene tray of pansies (well, they were wee flowers) so unless he's a racer with hanging baskets, I rather think not!
He didn't look like a man with an 8 port under his bonnet either.

The other day I went college as I was walking down the road a 1968 Mk2 past me all oringal expect for 2 new front wings (wasn't painted) no mods at all (spoke to him in the college) it was his first car and its been round the clock a few times he said but its still going strong!
