Looks to be a tidy shell to start with.. 8-)

This is the Countryman that you'll be fitting some timber on.?
Are there any tell tale signs of the fixing holes in the shell as it is.?
If you want I can sort some templates for the holes if you can't find any.

Most if not all of the timber frames were fitted by the dealers and not on the assembly lines.

the shell is very good just needs a really good tidying up,with regards to the wood there are no tell/tale markings at all,im toying with the idea of leaving the wood off, next issue is getting the interior made nad locating a second seat, only got the drivers seat !!

That looks an excellent shell :) . Personally, I'd be thinking that if the Heritage Certificate says it was originally grey and had wood, then this isn't the original shell. Not that it really matters.
I've never heard of the wood being "dealer fitted". It isn't a five minute job and involved a lot of holes in the body.

I hope it is it the original shell I'm pretty sure at some stage it has been chemically treated ,I have asked the body shop to take detailed photos they might be able to see some evidence of the wood but I'm not too fussed Its not going to be sold or put on show

some more pics of the restoration,a hole was evidant in the n/s/r floor pan so this will need to be repaired, just awaiting a couple of heritage wings to arrive,i really cant recommend duncan at "altered images" enough, the speed they are progressing is scary ,all i need to do now is sort the garage for its return, restore the front subframe, heater ETC the list goes on and on!!
