Ebay Sellers---Don't understand why they are so greedy..

Last week some fool paid over 260 pounds for a USED Taylor Navigator Compass (accessory marketed by Les Leston). I saw a new posting on Ebay UK for the same item (NEW OLD STOCK) but the listing includes the suction cup. The starting price is 260 pounds! Is this a SUPER RARE item in the UK? I purchased the same compass (New Old Stock) in the US at $30 and I thought I paid too much.
