I have just got my 1960 Seven home and the drivers A post and A panel is completely rotten and will need replacement from the scuttle down.Is there a clear directory on the net where I can look at what panels are to be ordered as I find MMachine difficult to make out what is needed and Somerford as well.I should point out that this is my first external hinge resto so I am not sure what is needed.Any help to clear the fog who be great.

What month was your Mini built.?
This would ascertain if you Mini had a single Apex panel or a double ie: an inner and outer Apex panel.
Up until Autumn 1960 Minis only had a single outer Apex.
The inner lower A post is different on the early Minis as well.
I'll try and find my M Machine catalogue to get some part numbers.

The Inner A Post stiffener is part Number 11:36:04:04 for the R/hand side.

InimiaD has the inner boxing plate, for a mk1 you will also want to get 11.14.00.88(rh) .87(lh) which is the outer apex panel and front part of the door frame in a single panel that would be correct on a mk1 saloon. As for the inner apex panel, you could just get the normal inner apex panels available and remove the hinge stiffeners to use on the early car... or you could use the inner apex panel for additional door hinge strength.

It was registered in late 1960 so I think it is a double A panel.I will give Doreen a ring but to be honest I am bricking it as I have never taken on a resto with this much corrosion

Java, I'm sure that you will find Doreen to be both knowledgeable & helpful. Not to mention very friendly too. I'm sure she will be able to sort you the correct panels.
Good luck with your A Panel job, may be worth asking about a few tricks on here before you try fitting it. The A Panel is the easiest panel on a Mini to get badly wrong.
