£12 for is too cheap for topcoat thinners . Arguably the best cellulose thinners on the market is HMG top gloss thinners, available from paint suppliers Ken & Lynn for around £22 a gallon. Do not use cheap thinners on top coats. It's fine on base coats and primer.
£25 for cellulose paint is about right. I think that is what Ken charges. His paint is really top quality. We have used his paint on numerous projects now with no problems. I have also used cellulose paint from Colourweld2000, who can be found on eBay. Their paint is around £60 plus postage for 5 litres. It is good paint but is not as thick as the paint Ken supplies so therefore does not go as far.
See page two of recommended suppliers on this forum for Kens details.
