Hello

I have just wrinkle heat temp painted my alloy rocker cover. As a lot of people know you need to heat for an hour at 200c !!!!

Not sure if this is wise for a alloy rocker cover, or am I wrong,

What have others done, when it come to wrinkle paint on alloy.

I have a steal maniflow inlet to do but that's not much of a problem as its steal.

I remember reading that when it came up

I did put it in the oven at 100c before painting.

I may put it back in there now it's been painted and dried for 24 hour to bake it on. But not at 200c

I think it would ruin my rocker cover.

Why?

Have done it before without any issues

I used heat temp wrinkle paint as the rocker cover will get hot and near other hot parts in the engine and normal paint might start to peel off.

It says on the can that it needs 24-48 hours to dry( but it was one in 30 minutes ) , but needs to be heated at 200c for 1hour , only reason I can see is to bake it on.

But it sounds like I don't need to . And it should be ok.

I have never used this stuff before I though I check with people I know would have.

Got a few other bits to do so now I know there be ok
