Cadwell HSCC

Post by Tim Harber »

All who can spot the weather get a prize

I lasted 14 seconds before standing water took me for a 360 into the barrier at the same spot that the red and white Imp goes off later

Roger Godfrey and an Imp went into barriers on green flag lap on Saturday, postponing the race. Sunday we got two shorter races

Congrats to Marc who survived first race there and to 70 year old Roger Phillps in green car with rain light

Yes. Sending it to my southern friend to edit and put up. Camera decided not to work in second race which would have looked more heroic . 28th to 9th 8-)

It was a shame you didn't get to race on Saturday following the rain before the race, and it looks like I missed some hairy action on Sunday :(

Here's a couple of series of pics from practice when the drying track was catching a few out.

Roger Godfrey gets it wrong

and it doesn't need to be wet for the Hillmanator to get all crossed up :o

I've still not editted all my pics from Saturday, as soon as I have uploaded them I'll post a few more up.

Just a couple of pics from Cadwell, on Sunday.
It was a walk in the park for Dan Cox in the Cortina in every race.
The damage to Godfreys car was from his excursion on Saturday.
The damage to Tims was from Sunday.
All the Mini men were driving great, and I am glad I was out of it !!. I have never heard Roger godfrey say he was thinking about pulling out !!.
Andy Jones did in fact jump the re start as he was over the start line before the leader, he was given a talking to, but it didnt matter because of all his other isssues.
The weather was really awful with hail storms and stair rod rain at times.

Sent the wrong shot of the grid, so here it is.
This was the amalgamated race and it was the best.

Yes Pete you are right. Not a Happy Bunny. :(
I did say to Andy Jones , are you running on slicks and he said no, but they are about 3 years old and he cant afford new ones. So they were probably like lumps of concrete. That may explain the handling. !!.

Finally a bit of footage from Cadwell when you can see through the windscreen. Thanks to Tim for sending me a disc of his in car footage, I have put together some practice footage with "That" first lap spin near the end. Although not a fast as Mr Platts in his Singer, it's still just as hairy.

I've also uploaded some more pictures from Saturday.

Warm up lamp damage! The strap was attached to the back of a 4x4 pick up in an attempt to pull the wing out!

That out lap was very wet

Marc Earnshaw

David Heale

Sideways Cortina

Image

Abarth was 50 seconds (yes 50) off the pace in practice, looked pretty though.

Image

Looking like a refugee from the Orange County Raceway in the 60's was the VW Bug. Note the big EMPI logo and those BRM wheels.

Image

Roger Phillips shows Marc Earnshaw the way (or was that Phillips gets in the way)

Image

One of these might be a bit of fun, and a lot cheaper than a Mk1 S.

I've still got some more pics to load up, mainly the Imps and the Sports car race, but in the mean time here's the link to my Cadwell album

http://s710.photobucket.com/albums/ww10 ... ll%202012/

Thanks for looking

Our Tim's a bit of a cool customer isnt he?

I'd have been effing and blinding, throwing my lid through the back window of the car Carlos Sainz style, etc.!

Tim - how about some commentary on the next one? ;)

Niall.

I've taken on a new man from the local jobcentre to do my PR and bodywork. He's just putting the finishing touches before we enter the Pride of Ownership parade.

He's a little slow but he's learning
