Just to dig up a thread that was started on the cooper register forum.

What are the views on the colour of the heat shield that sits between the carbs and the manifolds.

Going by the press release picture it would be bare metal, or galvanised or so but has anybody actually ever seen one like this? Or have they really always been black?

They have always been black. Don't put any faith in that picture its a pre production one. Look at the gearbox extension mounting.
