I got the contract to change the rear wheel bearing on my mothers 1996 mpi today, after seeing the prices that the usual mini suppliers charge for a quality bearing I nipped into the local motor factors to see what they had, well they had Timken bearings (marked made in Canada) £11.30 inc. tax so I grabbed one and stuck it in, are there any issues with Canadian made instead of UK made?? at that sort of price I may grab some more to hold in stock.

There shouldn't be any problem with the Canadian made stuff. They used to make the CV joints for Minis and 1100's, and I can tell you that I would trust them far more than the after-market stuff, with no branding on them, from.....ahem!!!!!

yep - Timken is a quality name for bearings. I wouldn't have any 2.nd thoughts if using it - canadian or uk made.
