stupid purchase alert

photos will follow, but today I bought front and rear body panels from a (crashed) Chevron B8.
I don't know why, it just seemed silly not to when I had the chance.
I had half a thought that i'd build an open sportscar with a mini lump in tha back, but more likely they'll fester in the garage and get under my feet till I sell them!

you should have kept that lotus chassis al,
you could have built a real creation then!

the body is currently resting on top of the Lotus replacement, another 7 style spaceframe.
It really doesn't fit!

I'm loathe to put up photos, 'cause at the moment the image you have will be of a sleek, curvacious GT coupe. The reality is a bit grubby, crazed and requires lots of work to look presentable.
Will take some tomorrow once I've washed off some of the dirt and slime, so you can admire the cracks and rough edges in their full glory.

It's spooky when you lay a B8 drawing over a Europa one - so many points can be made to line up, and the taper on the sides etc is similar, it's like one was based on the other. I liked the idea of keeping the lotus chassis, running gear and the cockpit section and doors / roof etc, but cutting the front and rear to take the Chevron panels......
Luckily my pal who had a Europa with a new chassis but a scabby body (front and rear damage: absolutely perfect for this plan) sold it late last year, or I would be very skint and in so much trouble with my wife!
Plan has to be to get them sold before I get too attached to them.
