Got a Mk1 Mini, there are no identification plates on it except a dealers plate which says Henleys of Bristol.
Is this car doomed to forever exist as a track car, or can you still get the correct ID somehow?
I would presume somebody has taken the original info and cloned it on a later Mini.

carefully remove the paint on the triangle bracket on the right hand side of the engine bay (using paint stripper) - there may be the chassis number on it - just the number part - heritage should be able to tell you what the prefix is.
with the entire chassis number you will be able to make enquires!!!!!!

Is it 6 digits on the number? Found one, looks like an attempt was made to scratch it up before though.

thats the one, if you do the five pound online heritage trace, they will be able to tell you what the prefix was.

Don't hold out too much hope of a number on the A bracket as its more than likely an Austin - unless it was built at Cowley.
