Ah, the telling off I got for cooking a set of plugs in my mum's oven when my 1310 van wouldn't start........
It wasn't my fault she came home early!
There was rather a lot of smoke, and the smell did go all through the house.
Her words were rather more heated than the plugs. In fairness, I should maybe have cleaned them off a bit first

To be fair, the pistons had been washed and soda blasted before I put them in there. It was just to remove the sticky soda as this is quite corressive. Looked good though!
