1961 mini

Post by 65coopers »

Just bought an 26th April 1961 registered mini which has the black door kickplates can anyone tell me when they went to the usual chrome kickplates and is there a way of finding out the build date without paying for a heritage cert. The chassis no is MA-2S-46****. Thanks :)

All I can say is I've been looking for a pair of those so if for some reason you decide to sell them, please let me know. On the other hand, I initiated this post that could help you:

Early Austin minis had stainless kick-plates, Morris had the black ones. I think this changed to both Austin and Morris minis having the stainless from about September 1961.

My '62 Morris has the black kickplates - registered in Sept '62.

Ok Thanks everyone about the kickplates. Looks like i'll have to pay the £40 to find out anymore about the car.
