Sorry guys for posting this question on this forum. I have a friend who really wants to bypass the whole alarm/immobilizer on his 1998 Mpi Mini. Any ideas how to do that?

If your having issues with the key fobs and arming etc...

For the wifes MPi we used a company in Birmingham to provide two new fobs matched to the black box on the inside of the bulkhead. All you have to do is post off the black box recorded post etc and he'l have two new ones back to you in a few days and hey presto

was reasonably priced too.
If its those your having problems with shout and Il dig out the paperwork as to where it was and price etc.
If you just want to bypas the thing ask a car thief ! sorry no idea. Guess is all linked in with the ECUs...
Hope you sort it, J

Hi,
Company we used was...
http://www.remotekey.co.uk/cars/rover/rover-mini/
All instructions are on the site, worth treading because you may have to brush up on your Birmingham accent to follow them over the phone ! Not that us Yorkshire folk exactly speak the Queens English...
The turnaround was 2-3 days from us posting off and we never had a problem after with arming/disarming etc
Regards, J

Thanks!

But as I am in Norway this statement on their website might be a problem : " WE CAN ONLY DEAL WITH CUSTOMERS WITHIN THE UK / NORTHERN IRELAND"
