Hi everyone
My name is Tim Ward and like many others on the forum i have been into minis for many years with just a few to my credit!! I live in leafy Lincolnshire and my first car was an Antique Gold Austin Mini 1000, PJL 835R which was given a set of GB alloys, a couple of Cibies and a leather steering wheel....all this back in 1984!! a few Fords followed until i bought my first MK1 - a 1966 Austin 850 SDL with one family owner. ECT 254D was Almond Green and Alexander converted from new. Then came the car which i should have never sold.....twice! EDV 32C was a French 1965 Austin Cooper in Old English White /Black. EDV had one French family owner from new, was totally original and only had 52,000 kms on the clock! i gave this car a set of Minilites and a wood rim Moto Lita and in 1996 a bare metal restoration and the only panels replaced were the drivers narrow sill and the rear valence!! It was featured in both magazines and won many awards....and it was never trailered! As you do, i sold it twice and have tried to replace it many times with a 1982 HL Auto, a 1986 Piccadilly, a 1993 Italian Job and a 1997 Balmoral. My dream car bought but was never possible was my 1964 Cooper 'S' 1071 AKY 188B - a Surf Blue Morris which was all original and sold by Tony Fall!! but which was as rotten as a peach and well beyond my means. Another car which i should have never sold. Which leaves us with my latest project, a 1965 Tweed Grey Cooper needing more panels than i care to think about but which will give me a great deal of pleasure......one day!!
Another Tim W!!
