Hi all,
I'm Chris, living in Gloucestershire with my wife and toddler daughter!
Always been a petrol head interested in all aspects of motoring, moderns, classics, motorsport and of course Mini's! I'm really into early Minis and particularly their rally history and early tuning - all the sort of stuff that's covered on this fantastic site!
My one and only Mini is my 1964 Super Deluxe which I bought as my first car aged 18 and have owned ever since! It was my only car for about 5 years and did trips up Shelsley Walsh...
and skiing trips to Scotland...
I finally got round to restoring it a few years ago (build thread on the old forum), fortunately just before our daughter arrived - well almost....I had enlisted the help of my Dad to refit the engine after the body resto and as I lay under the car while he lowered the engine down into the subframe my mobile phone started ringing. It was my wife to saying she had gone into early labour! After asking if she was sure ("what right now?!") we hastily abandoned the Mini and rushed her to hospital to await the arrival of our baby daughter several hours later!
Since her arrival I've had a lot less time to spend on my hobby although the good news is that my daughter seems to have inherited my car loving gene (I haven't been encouraging it, honest! ) and absolutely loves the Mini:
Cheers,
Chris
