how can you tell a mk1 rack without stripping it?

decided my rack on my 62 super is worn.
too much slop at the steering wheel

sooo,gonna drop it out

bought a recon rack about ten yrs ago,,

any external differences?
anybody got any pics ??

i suppose if it is a later rack i can change the steering arms but wanna keep it std..

any distinctive external differences?

this one is a "cam gears"

It used to be that the one without the alignment hole (same place as the pinion but on the other end) would be a Mk I, but with all the reproduction racks done over the years, that test doesn't work.
Just turn the rack from lock to lock. Around 2 1/4 turns would be Mk I. Just short of 2 3/4 turns is MK II+. Don't know what the pose pack racks are set for.

Earlier racks, had a hole for lubrication, under the rubber grommet.

But I dont know which ones ? and when it dissapered ?
