Some of the cars on here look really impressive show winning cars and so I wondered what you guys use top stop your nuts from going rusty..... An example os the nuts and bolts etc on the front ball joints. Having done several thousand miles mine look distinctly rusty and short of washing and drying them off every time I use the car I wondered what finish other people on the forum use to keep their nuts looking good

Good question. I have the Same problem here with quickly rusting ball joints etc.
I intended using a clear spray laquer on the offending nuts etc when I start putting the Woody back together.

Any other suggestions as to how you learned folk would tackle the issue..?

Great. Which bits can be plated? What plating did you use? I was unsure with this as I thought it may interfere with shimming etc. Are you pleased with the results? Are you able to use the car without fear...

I have Stainless steal bolts from smithy bits.

Just caution on S/S spring washers on suspension parts. Best to use high tensal

I had mine brite Nickel plated , and looks very good and has lasted upto now , but it is a show car

clear lacquer works ok,if u not using stainless
just remember to re touch up when it is undone for remedial work

Same as dean , ive used all stainless. works out quite expensive though

Especially as the bi-metallic corrosion can reach a potential 1.2v and it's the ordinary steel that disappears.
