Austin 998 Cooper - CKS 940D

Post by htwbvj »

Hi, I was hoping someone could help trace some of the history of a 1966 mini Cooper??

The car is an Austin 998 Cooper (originally tweed grey) with the reg CKS 940D, the only history we have on the mini is:

1. In the 1990’s the mini was owned and rally by Jock and Gail Hislop from the Scottish boarders, by this time the mini was painted Almond green with a white roof and was badged as a Morris cooper S, being fitted with a 1293 engine and stage rally prepared. Crewed by with the Hislop’s the car was a successful rally car.

2. In the late 1990’s/earl2000’s the mini was sold to a family from St Boswells (Hunter) were the mini was used on tarmac rally’s.

My daughter bought the mini in 2008 and since then the mini has been under restoration and will be back on the road as a standard 998 Cooper soon, however retaining the Almond green & white colours.

Would anyone remember this cooper? – if so, can you please forward me any information you may have on the mini?

Thank you in advance
Adrian
