Parcel shelf hole placement ?

On all mk1 parcel shelf's do they just have the two small lightening holes in the centre? As you can see at some point my shelf has been " modified " for some reason. Must have made it interesting getting the shopping out of the boot !

Yep, 2 holes about 2" dia, with "mounting screw" holes (4?) as well.
-You can see the screrw holes, and the edge of the larger holes. -The larger holes have their edges flanged downwards (you can see parts of the flanges in the picture. -The most rearward part of the mangled steel is the piece between the holes.
