Cooper S mk3 solenoid position

Can anyone tell me the correct position for the starter solenoid on a mk3 Cooper S?

O/S inner wing/valance and if you are into detail they came with the red push button lucas solenoid. ;)

Do you have a photo of one fitted
No sorry I don't, :( its under the servo, if its a restoration the screw holes may be in your panel, it's possibly in the same position as a standard car I would think.

The one on my Inno 1300 Cooper (which is sort of a Mk3 S) has it on the clutch housing. You can see it in my build thread
Of course I know what a dipstick is, you get called something often enough you look it up!

But the Mk3 S is on the inner wing :?: :shock: I would think that the position will not be changed from the basic mini on the production lines as the cable runs would be identical :!: The mk3 S was just a mini with mechanical upgrades the trim was just standard unlike the Mk1 & Mk 2 S models.

Picture taken today car owned from new & that is where the factory fitted them the same as the 1000 & 850. :shock:
