Removal of door trims on Cooper/S

Post by Gary Schulz »

Could someone remind me on how to remove the stainless door trims on my Cooper S? My car received some minor paint damage and I am going to have the door repainted but I don't remember how the upper and lower trims surrounding the glass come off. Looks like the upper surround trim needs to come off first?

Diagram in this thread linked below may help and shows which are the lower 'slide on' and which are the upper 'pop on/off' type of rivet clips:-

Thank you. I did eventually figure it out because I had a spare set of trim and could see which side has the deeper flange. It can be a bit of a puzzle unless you know the trick.

Glad you are sorted Gary, I took more pics after the ones in that thread, so maybe I need to a 'how to do thread' with Nick or someone?
