Great to se this Mab. Our Rally car had the FIA cage taken out to refit the early Aley bar one, and the centre stay at the rear looked further forward than many I've seen. The instructions confirm that they can be cut to size ;-)

Identifying the date is a very good question as the multiple point cage is very similar to the design of the Safety Devices multipoint cage. Early 1970s s at guess ?

The Aleybars brochure is not actually dated but based on the text extract posted above which mentions Aleybars were 10 years on in development from 1964 and the fact I remember getting the brochure when looking for a lighter roll bar/roll cage for my brothers Special Saloon 850 Mini around 1974, that approx. date seems to tie up.
I also have a 'Club Equipment' roll cage brochure from the around the same time in the early 1970's which I will scan and post for interest. At the time I was a Mechanical Engineering apprentice with access to a full engineering workshop with tube bending and welding gear so we had previously made our own Mini roll cage which got us through race scrutineering ok but was on the heavy side and at the time the trend in Special Saloons was for building very lightweight racing Minis...
(Mo Mendhams was probably the ultimate lightweight Mini special saloon at the time!)

I think they came in around the 67 time didn't they? I believe our first Aley cage was fitted in '69 or 70 - the T bar type. It was later replaced with an FIA type but I am restoring the T bar version for my car.

All three of my cars have Aleybars T cages first one fitted 1967 didn't have Aleybars logos on clamps and look quite heavy and agricultural.
The other two fitted 1968 are T type but both with alley logo'd clamps.
Pictures in my archives verify the dates and specs.

1964 though took some time to catch on!
