Hello and Merry Christmas,
Would anyone have a picture of a mini with 10" Ronal's fitted as I would like to get a good idea what they would look like on a car.
Many Thanks,
Mark.

I acquired a set of the 10 x 5 wheels at the 2008 IMM in Holland but have never got around to putting them on the car. They were refurbished and repainted silver a few years ago and fitted with period Dunlop tyres. I'll fit them over the weekend and take a photo. Not sure what wheel nuts are appropriate but think I got a set of Mini 25 wheel nuts.

German TÜV document. Ronal in line of the 5x10, offset (ET) second column.

If you loook at MINI WHEEL DIRECTORY, see search slot, top right of this screen, it'll show everything you need to know. It's a German mini site but very comprehensive. Even shows standard 3.5B ventilated wheels

I have a set , no pics as they are off the cars but on cooper discs / drums no rear spacer ok , S discs and rear spaced drums they stick out passed the body, needs small arches. They are very strong well made wheels not like the repro crap.

German TÜV document. Ronal in line of the 5x10, offset (ET) second column.
very interesting sheet, they even list the very very rare Borrani wheels!!
since when this TUV approval was required in Germany ?
My JA Pearce wheels have stamped LP922 ( Dunlop reference ), and i was told this was a trick to make tem TUV compliant
Thanks
Luis

Hello,
I made my driving test in 1974 and got my first 02/1968 vintage Morris Mini 1000 and it was already law that safety related parts had to have TÜV approval and a carbon monoxide test was also in force at that time. I think that before 1966 the regulations were a bit softer concerning exhaust systems and a few more. But as far as I can think there was always the fear at TÜV scrutineering that those officers could find something not to conformity. All you in the rest of Europe had a much easier life fitting something to your Minis! I remember that for example the French participans of the Cassic Club races at Zolder all hat number plates on their Minis when we had to bring them on trailers because they were non-eligible for road usage.
And as you mention the JAP, I have a Minilite derivative that is stamped 4.5x10 where in reality it is 5x10. But this is fraud and could have brought you to the German equivalent to your His Magisty's Court, especially so in case of an accident with harm to persons.
Kind regards,
Helmut

It's the only pic I have. It is a photo taken from the Japanese book The Mini 1978.
I should scan it but this takes longer.
I like the Ronals too, and I have a set on my shelves.

Ok… the offset looks close to a D1 so a straight fit to a Cooper without arches, what’s not to like!

When I first read Snoopy's comment I thought I might venture into the garage and do a wheel swap but have just been requested by my daughter to attend a failed battery situation! They do look good.

Hang on Snoopy! I'll see what I can do. Are you going to Gaydon for the HRCR Open Day? If you are maybe we can catch up. Might even bring the Mk3s with the Ronals on.
