Rover Dealerships circa 1999

Post by peasantslife »

Merry Christmas all,
Almost inevitably for a member of this forum, I have affinity and interests in other cars beyond just Mk1 mini's. Some may even have realised that one of my peccadillos is for Rover BRM's - which I see as somewhat akin to the Cooper S. (The hottest derivative of the low end of the model line up, differentiated by a unique powertrain, and special trim package....)
Anyway, I curate what we call the BRM Megafile, where we hold all the existing build data (BMW Heritage and Gaydon have exactly zero knowledge of our cars), and also we track the evolving publicly listed ownerships of the majority of the cars...We are down to about 8% of the total build in use and perhaps 20% surviving.
An extension of data which I wish to bring in is to expand our knowledge of where our BRM's were sold. In part its listed in the remaining cars Service Portfolio booklet, but I wonder if anyone can shed light on when the final UK Dealer Directory was issued by Rover to their buyers? Certainly in the 1980's every sale had the directory in the owners golvebox pac, but it seems to have died out sometime in the early90's?
Does anyone have a 1999 current listing of all Rover dealers? ideally with their CI number...(the dealers coding)
Particularly UK, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, Portugal, Spain are of interest as those were the only markets.
