Ordered set of wheels of JohnBrownWheels, unfortunately they didn’t bother to advise me that the rims are on order and they might get here before Christmas, obviously coming from the mysterious Orient. They’re happy to take yer money though, as a certain mr T.Thomas used to say, an absolute shower!

Quite a few suppliers have done this to me over the years. Take your order, take your money and only then tell you an item is out of stock. Its not good is it?

As you say not good at all, it amounts to plain theft and is grossly unethical for anyone, let alone a so called professional major parts supplier, appalling!

I ordered wheels from JBW which were out of stock, but they did email first to see if I was willing to wait or if I wanted to cancel. I was told they would be due in January but I wanted to proceed and thankfully I received them this week
.

As a balance on the JBW issue, I ordered a set of Dunlop D1's plus tyres on Thursday (19th) and received them yesterday (21st), they look awesome.

This topic seems to be expanding. Perhaps it should be retitled? Maybe "supplier performance."
To be quite honest I rely almost exclusively on buying parts on line, mainly consumables and find that the regular main suppliers provide a very good service. I'm not naming anyone but to be totally fair most of the main suppliers deliver very quickly and efficiently.

Cannot really complain as I bought a set of 6x10 Mambas from MiniSport on 17/11/2024 as a back order as mentioned on their web. Last saturday the four wheels arrived here having lost a few days @ customs'. The wheels were packed in JBW boxes so I think that MiniSport is supplied by them.
