"Bernie Ecclestone has announced the sale of his entire collection of grand prix and F1 cars; 69 examples stretching from a 1931 Bugatti Type 54S to Michael Schumacher’s 2002 championship-winning Ferrari. Among the cars up for sale is Stirling Moss' Vanwall VW10, that became the first British car to win an F1 race and the Constructors' Championship in 1958, the Brabham BT46B, dubbed the 'fan car' designed by Gordon Murray, which Lauda drew to victory at the 1978 Swedish GP and the BT45C in which the Austrian made his debut for Ecclestone's team the same year."

Perhaps Bernie could enhance his notoriety & keep the collection all together by donating FOC the whole lot of his F1 Cars to the Silverstone Museum..
Bad Idea as probably Bernie does need some extra income ;)

No prices will ever be known........

Words like 'record' 'unprecidented' 'enormous' ( the sale price, not the current vendor) will be used, but confidentiality will keep us (but not the tax man) guessing.

Problem is, how big is the market? Will he be flooding it? Or will it sell as a collection to a middle/ far Eastern consortium? I'd say that is quite likely. They aren't cars, they are investments at the prices suggested

But will the tax man actually get anything from the sale?...no capital gains tax on 'classic cars' as classified as "wasting assets" and are exempt. But don't tell Rachel Reeves....
