Remote brake reservoir

Can I ask if there are rules against remote mounting of the brake and clutch reservoirs inside the cabin of a Racecar.
I have not got the space on the bulkhead. Any ideas?
Thanks. Ian

This used to be frowned up by the MSA, but the ruling on small, non-pressurised reservoirs was removed a few years ago and now it's fine to have brake and clutch reservoirs inside the cabin.

I forgot to mention that I’m using AP racing master cylinders designed to have remote reservoirs. Not much space in the Jem engine bay. Trying to fit air box in as well

This is the car so far. I plan to mount the reservoirs near the top of the dash on the passenger side. Have you a cage fitted yet? If not , I can post some images if they are helpful? What class are you thinking of competing in? Be nice to have out instead of all those pesky Mk1 minis’

I have run into issues with scruitineering the past with holes in the bulkhead, not being fully sealed.
I would advise that you talk to an MSUK scruitineer before making the mods. The ones that can do logbooks (sorry, passports now) are listed.

Thanks for posting the picture of the jem, the cage looks very substantial, did you bond in spreader plates where the cage legs fit ? i hillclimb my Jem and have just got a rear cage fitted but had to fabricate spreader plates and bond them into floor as just fastening to the fi-glass floor would not be strong enough. Hope the build goes ok.

Thanks Simon.
I plan to fit bulkhead couplings to keep the bulkhead sealed. Good point though.
All best

There are fabricated plates on all six bases. Plus the spreader plates on the outside. I have had the sill tubes fitted to enable stands to be used . I’ve never liked axle stands. I’ll post some images .
