I wonder if someone can help, I have a mini that is certainly a bitsa !! So I am not deluded !!
I am trying to identify the floor and it has a hole in the transmission tunnel like the one circled in red , I am not sure if this was specific to a particular year ?
It could be a 1966 or 1971 floor.
Thanks
Phib.

The hole is for the floor push starter/solenoid button as fitted to early Mk1 850 Minis...up to about September 1964 I think.

The hole is for the floor push starter button as fitted to early Mk1 Minis.
...and it disappeared when hydro was introduced in late '64, when a U shaped tag for the cable replaced it... which you can see from the above where it is welded in.

Yep, Mab is correct....it was also used on the 1071/Elf/Hornet to bolt a small P bracket (underneath) for the battery cable.

Many thanks, greatly apreciated.
I am assuming that that same floor pan (without the hole) went from 64 to 1976 ? Which may make sense
I apologise in advance for lots of stupid questions in the future !!

Yes the starter button pressing 'bulge' in the tunnel/floor pan was there (without the hole), through into Mk3 Mini production until the rod change tunnel/floorpan was introduced.
No need to apologise for asking questions, it is an important part of what makes forums worthwhile, most of us long term members with high post counts still often ask questions or advice and find out things we did not know.....and I doubt anyone of us is an 'expert' on all 40 years of Mini production....not to mention the many other specialist related subjects like modification, tuning, competition history, works Minis, etc!
