Would anyone have insight into the removal of the mk2 3 gauge instrument binnacle when no obvious screws are in view?

There are 4x phillips headed crews that are screwed from the rear - inside the car - through the binacle and into 4 captive nuts on the outside - the engine side - of the bulkhead.

The two bottom screws are only (?) accessible to unscrew and screw in from underneath the parcel shelf. You have to lower the heater to get to them

The two top screws are hidden behind the card dash liners. The Minispares photo in link below shows the flange on the plastic binnacle with the top screw holes which are hidden behind the two dash liner cards:-

I think there's actually 6 screws (if the mk2 binnacle is the same as a mk3)
Two at the top either side of the ash tray, two either side and two at the bottom that require the heater to be lowered to access the screws. The binnacle is then usually sealed/stuck to the bulkhead with body caulking too, if it's as it left the factory.

Yep, you're right Imack I forgot the two at the side

A hell of a job putting the screws back in. Hence why a lot of binnacles have the bottom holes slotted.
