Located in SE Virgina, USA. Having completed work last November to include engine and transmission rebuild with upgrades, nice working KAD short shifter. Fully adjustable suspension w/ S racer red springs/ Hi-Los and correct droop stops. Adjustable shocks and new 13-inch tires, rides and drives great. SS pistons, kits wheel cyls shoes, pads and CVs. First sold in Italy, made its way to Germany then US via service man. Original owners and service passport. Records going back 20 plus years. Nonsmoking correct interior no burns or tears very nice. I love to take pictures (you'd think I'd learn to post them) they will come along. This is my second wide body and they are growing on me. Being mine I kept a sharp pencil and know exactly what I have involved. Asking $24,000 US. Steve (CTR)

In the period this has run I have worked on a 79 Canadian 1000, with 1310 Rover Cooper wide ratio gear set and 2.76 and two D/D drops. Once out I tuned a 1400 in a 94 BOC Sw5-07 twin HS4s 3.44 and bags of torque. Today I wrapped up work on a 2000 John Cooper SI. I have been putting miles on some nice cars. Makes me want to get this one out and enjoy it. Someone make me a nice offer. Steve
I'm not going to move this back to the top. I have been so busy working on customer cars I haven't taken the time to drive the wide body on my 120-mile test loop though the country back roads. It surprised me with how much fun it is and how solid it feels. The 13-inch NANKANG tires ride nice and have great grip. I have been told they give up at their limit without much warning. I have not reached that point as most roads I was on were high crown two lane without shoulders and with deep ditches.
It's now clear to me that I made some rookie mistakes. I have to much cam and to much gear. Idle is an issue at anything below 1200/1400 rpm. The 4.13 CWP is the real problem. Even with 175/50 R13 new tires wheel spin is a problem in most gears. Heading to the country roads on interstate keeping up with traffic I was turning 5000 rpm, out on country roads 3500/4500 rpm did all I needed. Maybe 3.44 is the new 4.13. I'll report back after new cam and CWP are installed. Steve (CTR)
I have decided to strip the 90 Rover Cooper power unit and rebuild it with some improvements. Being, the correct #s matching unit it seems like the thing to do. The bores are nice so hone, clean, surface .010, cam bearings, freeze plugs and polish shaft should do it. The MG Metro cam, std in these cars is nice as were the lifters. As for trans bearings, forks, synchro's, COP, diff pin and spiders. The thought of going from 4.1 to 3.1 CWP seems extreme. Sending the cyl head for full race porting, flow testing, assembly with all parts $2200. plus, shipping. Not sure who wants to pay for that?
