What Gold are the works comp wheels

This has probably cropped up many times before, but I spent several nights putting searches into search box and not having any luck.
So I did manage to find on another forum.

Jaguars Golden Sand Matallic 1962-68, Glasurit code JAG-802, RAL Code ?
Last night at a local Cooper register monthly meet, it was a Vauxhall colour? Did a search on this site under “Vauxhall”
The only reference to wheel colour was a brown.
So I know someone on this forum will hopefully know and if they can supply some information, would be greatly appreciate.

asked the Aircraft painting boys what they use on mag / alloy & used their prep alodine brush stuff & its not cheap ..then asked my wet paint supplier for the best solution... they said to use high build primer then top coat is whatever Gold in a "Satin Finish" they made up Rattle Cans & the finish looks a treat.. those in the know about "works cars" has ever mentioned anything about that is the wrong colour on what are genuine Mag Minilights
will find out the Rattle Can remains & look if it has a paint spec showing.

The wheel colour would of came came from Tech-dell, and by the time after a couple of stops the brake dust no one would be able to argue about what shade of gold, the cars always looked better travel stained with dirty spokes. :o  8-)

Im sure the late Dave Gilbert told me when he painted the wheels for GRX 310D that it was more Bronze than Gold shade that he was using .

Hard to tell off photos I’d agree, but this is an original wheel I had….never did find a code (because as has been rightly pointed out there wasn’t one)

That looks great. Reminding me that I really need to address the finish on my Minilites and make them gold..

MET0090 comes back as RAL1036 Pearl Gold.

Thanks everyone,
Just found out that it’s RAL 1036 pearl gold.
Just pipped at the post by the G S Davies (Admin).
Now need to acid dip and speak to my paint guru.

Suggest to check that your Alloys are ok to be Acid Dipped to get back to basics ... my wheels are marked up within the casting as Minilight Magnesium so i consulted the boys who repaint Aircraft at Turweston.. took there advice & they sold me some of their specific alloy paint stripper . this helped get some of what was powder coat off ..but not a lot ..( Powder coat does not breath & that finish is not very good on Magnesium ).. so the rims were bead blasted it took a lot of time & effort but we got there.. just do your checks re cleaning Alloy with the Acid based stuff .
just to say somewhere in the distant past there is a Forum Post on this subject by people who know much more on this subject than me. ;)
ps dont forget the Met0090 gold paint is made up with Satin finish.

Magnesium is a delicate material and needs to be prepared by people with experience. If not looked after properly it corrodes aggressively.

The Aircraft painting boys told me they only have one specific Aircraft that has a Magnesium Tail Plane .. in the normal type Aircraft they deal with Magnesium is rare & not used .. just saying.
