The are a few minis on it too, including a nice little El Paso Beige Mk2 Cooper owned by local MCR member Richard Derrick. 8-)

When its says "TEST" at the Tickled Trout what actually takes place? Do they just drive past or is there a short stage etc?

I'm presuming it is an autotest but I am not sure

I think you've got to remember the event is a marathon rather than a sprint and taking it a bit easy on the tests and getting it right is preferable to getting a wrong test and fixing a driveshaft coupling by the side of the road at 2am in the morning while everyone else is tucked up in bed! The car is question is also crewed by Novices out on their first event i believe. That said, some do really go for it. Niall.

no dont get me wrong, i realise whats its all about and im hopefully going to be part of a novice crew doing exactly the same thing but i just thought that test was rather drab indeed.

i would love to have a bash at the le jog and many others like it, in fact we could host a test in our factory grounds......

If you think that test was a bit dull, you should have seen the test at Eshott airfield on the Monday. It consisted of a LE Mans style start with the driver running from the passenger side of the car, geting in the car, starting it, then after a 5 second count whizzing off down the runway for half a mile to a stop.

The test at the kart track at Tranent was a bit more exciting as the cars did a lap of the outdoor track.

I've put a video on YouTube of some of the more sprited drives around the track...

Thanks for looking.

There was one other test in Preston Pad, I didn't get to either but the one at the place that isn't in the video was at a much larger location so may have been better.

Loved watching the cars go round the kart track :)

No idea how many tests were on the rally, as not all were advertised on the spectator details. It also seems that not all the drivers need to do all the tests, due to the way the rally is scored.

I've seen kart tracks used before on regularity type events, they are always fun to watch.
