Does anyone have a spare 1070 engine plate that they will part with?
Or, is anyone reproducing them???
Thanks

If every one was willing to pay 300 for a small piece of aluminium then they could be a bit crisper on the edges as it would be worthwhile investing. Top quality stamps were in the region of a £1000 each side or £6000 all in- totally not cost effective. It was still expesive enough to have these done. The pictures show clearly how they are, buyers choice

Gordon, mine arrived today and I am really pleased with it, it looks excellent and as I've been after one for well over a year, I am very happy. It lives at the back of the engine, which no one can see but I still wanted one and you were kind enough and prepared to remanufacture them. I salute you!!
Paul

I have a genuine original 1070 engine plate in very good condition that I am happy to sell.
I am in Australia, but it should be easy to post.
PM me if interested.
Cheers.

I think Catmint has done the right thing...

I have a friend who does high end restorations ..of buildings not cars. A prime rule is that replacement items should represent the original item but be distinguishable from it... for the benefit of future restorers and historians.

Its a real conundrum; genuine but tatty or a shiny copy???

Cheers, Ian

That's so nice to hear. Dermot has helped so many people out via here over the years and it is great that others help him with such rare bits ;-)

Thank you Andy...kinds words...always appreciated.
I have always been a believer in that it is a two-way street when it comes to helping others.
