Post by Jasonking »

Hi, is it best to not fit washers to the the rear longer head bolts when torquing down head on small block motors?

The rocker post plates should be all you need. No extra washers

Agree with Tim. The plates ARE washers in all but name

I don't use washers on the head nuts that are on the pedestals.
I only use one of the plates shown (not 4), in fact I generally loctite the shaft retaining screw and then don't use any plates as I've seen them deform under the head nut as they'ne not hardened.
